Attention Crew Managers: Pick up the Race Packages on Friday, June 25, 10AM - 6:30 PM at the Official's Tent by the Dock
Please submit your Crew Bio online or forward to registrar@lethbridgedragonfest.ca by June 15, 2010 to be included in the Festival Program.
Crew Manager's Meeting with the Race Director June 25 @ 7:00PM immediately following the Opening Ceremony at the Dock.
Please ensure that the Manager, Crew Captain, Drummer and Steersperson attend.
Crew Managers
Please check the Practice Schedule on a regular basis for crew events including clinics and Safety Orientations sessions. Managers are responsible to ensure all novice crew members participate in a Safety Orientation and to maintain documentation of their attendance prior to on water practices.
Crew Members must complete Online Registration and acceptance of the condition of the Waivers at least 1 week before the crew’s first practice. Youth Crews must submit completed Waiver Forms to the Registrar at least 1 week prior to the first practise.
The Registrar will confirm your race entry once all the required documents are received.
Practice times are generally assigned on a first-come first-served basis. The Race Technical Committee reserves the right to reassign practices in order to balance the practice schedule. Contact: registrar@lethbridgedragonfest.ca.
Role of the Crew Manager
- Is not a member of the on- the-water crew
- Liaises between the Festival Executive and crew
- Liaises with crew members as necessary
- Meets deadlines for registration
- Liaises with the Festival Registrar to ensure registration process is complete
- Ensures all paddlers complete on line waivers and completes the crew roster.
- Negotiates practice schedule with the Registrar and ensures the crew is aware of the Practise Schedule. Ensures all novice crew members attend and participate in a Safety Orientation session prior to on water practise.
- Sets up calendar of events for the crew
- Schedules and arranges crew meetings
- Provides information to crew re: festivals, dates, etc.
- Oversees booking of accommodation as required
- Attends the Race meeting at the Festival and conveys the race protocols and official requirements to the crew
- Handles all management needs at race venues
